International success for Siobhan
Athlone Toastmaster member Siobhan Keenan-Fitzgerald won the International Toastmasters Topic Competition recently, seeing off competition from over 1,000 clubs across Ireland and England.
A member of Athlone Toastmaster for 17 years, Siobhan has competed at this level before numerous times. It was a tremendous accolade for her, her family and the Athlone Toastmasters Club to take first prize. Siobhan's success came after she progressed through club, area division and district levels.
The topic chosen was “What life lesson did you learn the hard way?” Siobhan always has a great command of words and thoughts, she delivered a unique twist on the topic bringing all her life experiences and finally taking the hardest journey of all the conquest within.
Siobhan is married with four children and works as a teaching school Principal. Originally from Ferbane, she is now living in Ahascragh.
She has three siblings, Agnes, Mike and Francis all of whom compete in Toastmasters competitions. Mike Keenan was also a competitor in District Level in the Speech Contest representing Tullamore Toastmasters Club.
