Welcome weather boost with dry conditions in store for coming days

People looking to beat the pandemic blues by getting out for a walk or other forms of exercise will be glad to hear that the weather will remain mostly dry between now and Sunday.

Met Eireann is expecting generally settled conditions over the coming days with slightly chilly temperatures and only the odd, isolated shower.

Tomorrow (Wednesday) will see some showers spreading from east to west during the mid-morning, but these will die out by the afternoon. Temperatures will range from 12 to 15 degrees in a light, easterly breeze.

The forecast is similar for Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, with each day expected to be dry with sunny spells, light winds, and daytime temperatures averaging around 12 or 13 degrees.

Thursday night, in particular, will be cold with temperatures of zero to 5 degrees.

After a good start to the weekend, the weather will become more unsettled from Sunday with wet and windy conditions in store for early next week.

Cathal Nolan of the Ireland's Weather Channel Facebook page said it will be "milder but wilder" next week, with a possibility of some stormy conditions.
