One additional Covid-19 death in last day

One additional Covid-19 related death has been reported in the State, as well as 25 new cases, the Department of Health reported this evening.

There have now been 1,679 coronavirus-related deaths in Ireland, while the total number of confirmed cases stands at 25,201.

The HSE is working to identify any contacts the patient may have had to provide them with information and advice to prevent further spread.

The Health Protection Surveillance Centre has reported that as of Friday last, 3,321 cases have required hospitalisation (13%), with 409 of those admitted to ICU – one more than last Sunday’s figure for ICU admissions.

The most recent county breakdown as of midnight Friday shows that Offaly has a total of 479 confirmed cases - the same number of cases as the previous day.

Over the previous week, there has only been one new case in Offaly.
