Offaly singer's new song 'This Cannot Last'
He may be branded a country singer but one thing is for sure Kilbeggan-born singer/songwriter John Hogan can easily diversify when it comes to entertaining and recording. In recent weeks like a lot of entertainers he has taken the opportunity to post videos of himself singing on his Facebook page much to the delight of his many fans. Not only does he feature country classics he has also aired many of his recent self-penned compositions such as ‘We Can Beat This’ Thing’, ‘On The Front Line’, ‘Real Once More’ and ‘Shine Your Light’ all of which have received thousands of Facebook views.
John has just released a self-penned song entitled ‘This Cannot Last’. Lyrically it has a powerful message very apt for the world we live in today. The Offaly based singer/songwriter explains. “The key to life is ‘simplicity’, I’ve always valued that word. Learning the Safe Cross Code when I was a young lad in school, ‘Stop, Look and Listen’, I carried it into the song. We forget to Stop – the rat race, Look – at the beauty that surrounds us and Listen – to the sound of silence and nature. That formed the basis for the song. Every man, woman and child has contributed in some way to climate change. We are all to blame.
‘This Cannot Last’ was recorded in Spout Studios, Longford and produced by Jonathan Owens and John Hogan. Featured on backing vocals and harmonies is Annette Troy, Pauline Hannon, Emily O’Brien, Katie Spollen and Molly Hickey from Croghan Choir.
Video Production by Stephen Rosney of Rosney Media Productions.
