Sinead Handy plays the role of Elle in TMS's production of Legally Blonde.

Tullamore Musical Society are going Legally Blonde

Tullamore Musical Society (TMS) is gearing up to stage their production of the highly acclaimed show 'Legally Blonde The Musical'.

The story is based on the novel Legally Blonde by Amanda Brown and the 2001 film of the same name starring Reese Witherspoon. The show's music and lyrics are by Laurence O'Keefe and Nell Benjamin and libretto by Heather Hach.

The show, which runs from February 16th - 22nd, is the perfect production to follow their highly successful 'Jekyll and Hyde'.

Last year TMS received six AIMS (Association of Irish Musical Society) award nominations, the highest number received to date. Winning two awards on the night, Paul Norton took home the silverware for best director while Chris Corroon achieved the coveted best singer title.

TMS are delighted to once again have Paul Norton at the helm of their production as he brings his talent and expertise to this musical comedy. Chris Corroon is back again playing the role of self absorbed charmer Warner Huntington III. However, this year is all about the girls, Legally Blonde tells the story of Elle Woods played by the incomparable Sinéad Handy, who is no stranger to the TMS stage having played mammoth roles in many shows including 'The Witches of Eastwick' and 'All Shook Up'. The show follows the transformation of Elle as she tackles stereotypes and scandal in pursuit of her dreams with the help of her Delta Nu’s and new love interest Emmett Forrest, played by Tullamore man John Conroy.

The show takes place from February 16th - 22nd in the Tullamore GAA Centre at 8pm sharp, with no show on Thursday, February 20th. Tickets will be on sale in the Bridge Centre, Tullamore from early February and are €18 with a €13 concession on Sunday, Ferbruary 16th and Monday, February 17th.

Tullamore Musical Society is looking forward to bringing this action-packed, fun musical to town!
