Minister to mark major anniversary of Birr school

Minister for Education and Skills, Joe McHugh, will be in Birr next week to mark 40 years of Birr Community School.

The event is a dual celebration comprising of the launch of a new publication ‘The Streets of St Brendan’s CS 40 Years of Magical Memories' and the opening of ‘Keeping Ireland Modern Exhibition’ by Queens University, in conjunction with John McLaughlin Architects. 

The new publication contains pictures of school life from each decade across a host of different categories such as sport, the school show, graduations and much more. 

The anniversary event will be launched by Joe McHugh, Minister for Education and Skills, on Friday, January 17 at 7.30pm in the sports hall of the school. Reserve seating only – a large attendance is anticipated at this free event.
