Lucky local winners of painting by renowned Irish artist

Local couple, Aidan O’Beirne and Mary Cummins from Derryclure, Tullamore, were the lucky winners of a unique work of art by renowned Irish artist, Jean Lowndes.

The couple won the artwork as part of a competition at house, Ireland’s premier interior design event, which took place earlier this year, and were presented with the work by the artist at the Left Bank Bar and Restaurant during Kilkenny Arts Festival recently.

The piece is an oil palette knife painting of Inishtrahull Lighthouse, the most northerly lighthouse in Ireland located on the Inishtrahull Island off the coast of Donegal.

Jean Lowndes’ paintings are influenced by her love of nature and is renowned for her paintings of the sea.
