Now that the summer holidays are upon us there is lots to do across all libraries in Offalymore Library.
Events for Tullamore Library:
Repatriating James Joyce, a talk by Anthony Jordan, a Bloomsday event takes place this Saturday June 22 at 11-12.30pm.
Anthony J. Jordan is a biographer of many Irish writers and politicians including Christy Brown, WB Yeats, Arthur Griffith, Eamon de Valera, Conor Cruise O’Brien and Sean MacBride. His talk will focus on the issues regarding the repatriation of Joyce’s remains to Ireland upon his death in 1941. Free event but booking essential.
Oscar Wilde - the poet must sing, a talk by Fidelma Mahon, will take place on Thursday June 27 at 6.45pm.
Rocket Building Competition to celebrate Apollo 11’s 50 year anniversary of the moon landing, Libraries across Offaly are asking children to build their own rocket out of recyclables. Entry forms can be collected in any Offaly Library. Entries need to be droped into Tullamore Central Library by July 17. Judging and price giving on Julu 20.
Board Games Club takes place on the last Thursday of every month at 6-7.45PM, next meeting July 27. Bring your favourite board games, adults only.

Tullamore Screen Academy, Fridays at 2-3.15pm or 3.30-4.45pm. Local actor Darragh O’Toole, known for his series role as Conor Tyrell and “Red Rock” is starting ongoing weekly screen acting classes.
