Tullamore comedian on Ireland's Got Talent
A comedian from Tullamore is appearing on Ireland's Got Talent this Saturday evening.
A former porter in Tullamore Hospital, Jonathan Sheehan has been doing stand up since he completed a comedy course eight years ago in a bid to boost his confidence. It was through comedy that he met his girlfriend, Ashlee.
Currently living together in Balbriggan in County Dublin, the couple met at a stand up competition. While Ashlee won the competition, Jonathan won her heart and they have been together for the last five years.
Currently working full-time as a health care assistant in a nursing home, Jonathan says that while he enjoys his work it is also demanding. He works 12 hour shifts and the people he works with have Alzheimers and dementia.
He says that his “dream” is do be able to work as a carer part-time and to supplement his income by gigging regularly.
In order to make his way through to the next round on TV’s Ireland's Got Talent, Jonathan will have to impress one of his comedic influences Jason Byrne, and his fellow judges Louis Walsh, Denise Van Outen and Michelle Visage.
