Birr's Sarah celebrates top Galway appointment
A Birr native has been appointed as the principal of a new Educate Together secondary school which is opening in Galway this September.
Sarah Molloy's appointment to the role was announced on the school's website last week.
She is moving to the school from Calasanctius College in Oranmore, where she had been Deputy Principal since 2017.
Previous to this, Sarah held a Deputy Principal position and was part of the start-up team in Stepaside Educate Together Secondary School in Dublin.
She studied Theology and English in the Mater Dei Institute of Education and in 2004 went on to do a Masters in ICT in Education at the University of Limerick. In 2009, she did a Postgraduate Diploma in Educational Leadership in NUI Maynooth.
The manager of Galway Educate Together Secondary School, Jennifer Buttner, said Sarah was "the perfect fit" for the school, and the right person to lead it "in its formative years".
Commenting on her appointment, Sarah said: "I am delighted to be joining the Educate Together team in Galway and I look forward to leading the development of an exciting new school which will be an inclusive, innovative, 21st Century centre of excellence where each member of the community will be valued and encouraged to reach their full potential."
