Tullamore couple win all expenses paid wedding

A young Tullamore couple got the best possible early Christmas present last week when they won an all expenses paid wedding.

Michelle Roche and Jimmy Kirwin will tie the knot in Inchydoney Island Lodge & Spa in Cork on February 28 after winning the covted prize on Muireann O'Connell's lunch time show on Today FM.

The show received entries from an astonishing 500 couples from around Ireland, but there could only be one winning couple! After narrowing down the entries, two couples were shortlisted and invited to come into Today FM to take part in a mixture of wedding-themed challenges.

In a nail biting tie breaker, Michelle and Jimmy were crowned the winning couple live on air last Friday and walked away with the prize of a lifetime: the Inchydoney Wedding Package for 60 guests. The package includes a drinks reception, set menu, ½ bottle of wine per person and evening supper; the complimentary bridal suite for the couple; two complimentary guest rooms; reduced B&B rate for wedding guests. And if that wasn't enough, Today FM are providing the DJ and entertainment.

Speaking about the win, Michelle said that she and Jimmy were looking for signs all morning before they hit the road to try and win the wedding of their dreams!

“The wedding is taking place on February 28th and that is actually my mammy’s birthday and then we realised that the 28th of February is also Jimmy’s parents wedding anniversary! We are overjoyed and just in shock, we can’t believe it.”

Today FM breakfast presenter Ian Dempsey will be hosting the wedding breakfast while Fergal D’Arcy is set to get the party started in the evening with a spectacular DJ set. Matt Cooper, Louise Duffy and Ed Smith will also appear.
