Four arrested in connection with assault on referee
Four men have been arrested in connection with the assault on referee Daniel Sweeney at a soccer game in Horseleap earlier this month.
The Garda Press Office issued this statement this afternoon:
"Four men, two in their 20s, one in his teens and on in his 40s, have been arrested this morning, Wednesday 28th November, following investigations into an assault on a referee which occurred on Sunday 11th November 2018, at Horseleap, Co. Offaly.
"All four suspects are detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984. They are detained at Mullingar, Tullamore and Birr Garda stations."
