FF general election selection convention tonight

Christine Traynor will be up against fellow Edenderry resident John Furey, Cllr Eddie Fitzpatrick and Cllr Peter Ormond at the party's local general election selection convention tonight, Thursday, November 1.

Speaking before the convention, Ms Traynor said that it was important that more women become involved in politics.

“Women face more challenges so it is more difficult, but I think there is a responsibility on political parties and organisations to ensure there is a positive environment in which women will particpate, to get the best out of people requires leadership. Our board on the Chamber of Commerce has an excellent gender balance, and the outcomes we are achieving is testament to that balance”.
