Gardaí renew appeal for witnesses to fatal collision of local student
Gardaí investigating a fatal road traffic collision in which local student Jordan Murphy, a pedestrian, was killed in Athlone on Tuesday, have renewed their appeal for witnesses.
He was fatally injured when he was struck by a van at Bonavalley, Athlone, at 9.20am.
In particular, gardaí are appealing to the driver of a white rigid truck with a tail lift, who may have witnessed the accident occurring on September 11, outside Athlone Institute of Technology.
The 18-year-old was in his second year studying for a higher certificate in Business.
Jordan remains are lying in repose at O'Reilly's Funeral Home, Harbour Street, Tullamore from today, Thursday, from 4pm until Rosary at 8pm tonight.
Funeral Mass will take place on Friday morning at 10am in the Church of the Assumption, Tullamore. Burial after Mass in Clonminch Cemetery, Tullamore.
Liverpool Football Club was one of Jordan's great passions and his family have requested that as many people as possible wear Liverpool jerseys to the funeral.
