HSE's Escalation Policy activated at Tullamore Hospital
A statement by the Midland Regional Hospital Tullamore has been released to the public today, Tuesday.
"The Midland Regional Hospital Tullamore is experiencing high levels of attendances with many patients requiring admission today Tuesday May 29.
"As a result, the HSE’s Escalation Policy has been activated at the hospital.
"In order to assist us we are requesting that patients in the first instance, consider using their GP out of hours for medical assessment, where possible
"The Hospital regrets that any patient should experience delays in accessing In patient beds."
There 24 people on trolleys at Tullamore Hospital today according to this morning's figures by the INMO. The nationwide figure is 443, an increase of 2% on the same day last year when there were 435 patients on trolleys.
