Approval for 127 new homes
A major new housing development is set to proceed in Tullamore following the withdrawal of objections against the proposal.
Carlow-based Codd Property Holdings Limited intends to develop 127 homes and a creche on a 6.8 hectare site off the Arden Road in Tullamore.
The houses will be developed close to the existing Eiscir Meadows and Norbury Woods estates in Tullamore.
Planning permission had been granted to the company by Offaly County Council in December last subject to 28 conditions but three appeals had been lodged with An Bord Pleanala.
The board confirmed that all three appeals by Eiscir Meadows/Norbury Woods Residents Association, Finan Dooley & Colleen Moyles and Fiona Duffy had been withdrawn.
Leslie Codd said the company would now be pushing on with the approval plan.He said it is hoped to be start construction in August or September. The firm had initially sought to develop 202 homes but scaled back after Irish Water indicated that the sewerage infrastructre would not have the capacity.
