Reports of a suspicious device in Tullamore

A business park in Tullamore has been cordened off after reports of a suspicious device this afternoon.

Gardai were alerted shortly after midday to a suspicious object in the Tullamore Business and Technology Park, Sragh on the Clara Road by a member of the public.

A Garda Press Office spokesperson told the Offaly Independent a short time ago that officers are currently awaiting the arrival of the army bomb disposal team.

The scene has been sealed off and it's understood nearby businesses have been evacuated from the scene.

Traffic is being diverted away from the business park.
