Tractor worth over €20,000 stolen
An appeal has been issued for sightings of a tractor that was stolen near Tullamore this morning.
McDonald International Purchasing Manager John Joyce said the blue New Holland 8360 tractor was stolen from Kilmurray bog, Ballycommon at 3.55am on Wednesday morning. The tractor is valued at over €20,000.
He said the culprits “took the best tractor. They messed around with a few of the others.” It’s believed the tractor was driven away from the bog. “They hopped the gates and just drove over the gates on the way out,” Mr Joyce explained. He estimated the damage to the gates to be in the region of €500.
The crime occurred at the same location where a Hitachi digger and a low loader with a combined value of €65,000 were stolen last August. That machinery has since been recovered.
Mr Joyce appealed to anyone who has any information or noticed a blue New Holland 8360 tractor to contact Tullamore Garda Station on 057 93 27600 or McDonald International on 057 93 22115.
