Runaway car crashes in Tullamore

Gardai are appealing for witnesses after an unmanned car crashed in the centre of Tullamore on Monday morning. 

The car was captured on dashcam footage at Hayes' Cross in Tullamore as it appeared to break free from a tow truck before crashing into the footpath on Patrick Street. No one was injured in the incident.

Since appearing on HGV Dash Cam Footage on Facebook, the clip has been viewed almost 150,000 times.

Gardai in Tullamore said they have spoken with the driver and would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the crash in person. Anyone with information can contact Tullamore Garda Station on 057 93 27600.
