The HSE has activated its escalation policy at Tullamore Hospital
Patients are being asked to consider visiting their GP before attending at Tullamore Hospital due to overcrowding.
The HSE said “the Midland Regional Hospital Tullamore is experiencing high levels of attendances and admissions today. As a result, the HSE’s Escalation Policy hasnow been activated at the hospital.”
“In order to assist us we are requesting that patients in the first instance, consider using their GP or Midoc Service for medical assessment, where possible,” the HSE stated.
It said the situation would be reviewed on an ongoing basis.
