Darkness Into Light Edenderry Launch
Laois and Offaly Darkness Into Light 2016 will be launched in Edenderry tonight.
Supported by Electric Ireland, Darkness Into Light will take place Tullamore, Edenderry and Banagher in Offaly on Saturday, May 7 this year.
Founder of the suicide and self-harm crisis centre Pieta House, Joan Freeman, will launch Darkness Into Light 2016 with Electric Ireland in Larkin’s Bistro, Edenderry at 9pm tonight(Friday, March18). Talented local playwright Eugene O’Brien and musician Sean Norman will be on hand to help launch the event.
Darkness Into Light is a unique, early morning fundraising event which begins in darkness at 4.15am as thousands of people walk or run a 5km route while dawn is breaking. This year, Darkness Into Light will take place in over 100 locations in Ireland and abroad including the UK, Canada, Australia and New Zealand on Saturday, May 7.
The event will take place this year in three venues in Offaly including Tullamore and for the first time in Edenderry and Banagher. The event will also once again take place in Mountmellick.
