Overcrowding continues at Tullamore Hospital
There were 34 people on trolleys or in wards awaiting beds at Tullamore Hospital this morning, according to the INMO.
The Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation(INMO)’s trolley and ward watch figures reveal show the same number of people awaiting admission in Mullingar. At the Midland Regional Hospital Tullamore, the figures are up by eight in the past 24 hours.
The HSE activated its Escalation Policy at the Midland Regional Hospital Tullamore yesterday.
It advised members of the public to consider visiting their GP or Midoc service before attending. The HSE said it would be reviewing the situation on an ongoing basis.
Nationally, the INMO said there are 554 people on trolleys or in wards waiting for beds.
