Investigation launched after aggravated burglary

Gardai are appealing for information following an aggravated burglary in the townland of Thomastown East on the Offaly Kildare border last night.

At around 8.30pm four masked men - armed with what Gardai believe were golf clubs - entered a home shared by a brother and sister in their 60s. The men tied up the two occupants and made off with a sum of cash.

Gardai, who have launched an investigation, have no description of the perpetrators or the vehicle they used.
