Offaly ceos kilkenny move approved

Offaly County Council CEO Colette Byrne has been appointed to the position of CEO at Kilkenny County Council.

Tributes were paid to the Waterford native at her last monthly meeting of Offaly County Council on Monday.

Ms Byrne admitted she was departing “with a little bit of sadness” and said, “if Offaly was just that little bit closer to the South East I wouldn’t be making the decision I made.”

She described her 13 months in Offaly as “a great year for me personally” and she thanked council staff, both indoor and outdoor and of all grades, for their dedication and work. “It has been an absolute pleasure and honour for me to have been CEO for the last 13 months,” said Ms Byrne.
