Further thefts from vehicles in tullamore

Tullamore Gardai are urging people to be vigilant following a number of thefts from cars in the past 24 hours.

It follows a spate of thefts from vehicles in Tullamore over the weekend.

A garda spokesman said “there were five or six in the past 24 hours.” He urged people not to leave valuables in cars.

Gardai are also asking people to report suspicious activity and notify gardai of crimes as soon as they occur. The spokesman said gardai need to be able to collect forensics from vehicles in order to identify those responsible.

In order to do this, he asked members of the public to wait until gardai have had a chance to examine their vehicle before driving it away after a theft has happened.
