Three men arrested following tullamore crash

Three young men are being questioned at Tullamore garda station today (Thursday) in connection with a number of break-ins in Clara yesterday evening.

Speaking to the Offaly Independent Tullamore’s Sergeant Barry Collins said the three were arrested by gardai stationed at Tullamore following a crash between their patrol car and the vehicle the young men were travelling in at the roundabout adjacent to Axis Business Park on the R420, on the outskirts of Tullamore at approximately 9.30pm last night.

One guard was taken to hospital with minor injuries as a result of that crash, but was later released.

The three men are being held at Tullamore garda station under section four of the Criminal Justice Act 1984. They can be held for up to 48 hours.
