Tullamore now 6th in ibal league
Tullamore continued its waltz up the rankings of the Irish Business Against Litter (IBAL) litter league this week, taking sixth place in the field of 40.
Having lifted its performance from a low of 27th place in 2012 to 18th place this time last year, Tullamore improved to bag eleventh place later in 2013.
Last January the town was revealed as eighth cleanest of all surveyed. That impressive performance was bettered this week, when it was revealed the town had been placed sixth in the latest rankings.
The latest results mean Tullamore retains its ‘cleaner than European norms’ ranking, and that only Kilkenny, Cavan, Killarney, Longford and Tramore are deemed to be cleaner.
You can read a full account of what surveyors saw when they visited Tullamore in this week's Offaly Independent, which is out on Friday.
