Birr's Eugene is latest Lotto winner
Last Saturday was a great day for Birr’s Eugene Dolan, who won €17,000 at the National Lottery’s sixth Money Spinner event of the summer.
Presented by Brian Ormond, the Money Spinner event at the Bunratty Castle Hotel in Clare included players from Wexford, Limerick, Waterford, Cork and Offaly.
Between them the five won prizes to the value of €90,000.
The biggest winner on the day was Pat Dawson from Lisnagry in Limerick, who won prizes to the value of €29,000.
No doubt Birr’s Eugene was happy enough however, after winning €17,000 - including a €5,000 city break - thanks to a ticket he bought in Whelahan Newsagents on Birr’s Main Street.
Speaking about his Money Spinner experience Eugene explained that he doesn’t usually buy scratch cards, but instead fill thems out by request of his father Kieran.
A fishing and cycling enthusiast, animal lover Eugene says he’s lucky in life thanks to the great people he has around him.
Eugene’s dad has advised him to use his winnings to do up his house. “It needs a bit of work so the winnings will go a long way towards it,” he said, adding that he’ll be sure to save some to treat his dad too.
Twelve Money Spinner events will take place throughout the summer in both Dublin and around the country, with prizes up for grabs including city breaks, luxury holidays, shopping sprees and smart tvs. Money Spinner scratch cards are availabe at National Lottery agent stores nationwide for €3.
