Bank holiday weather: "not too bad"
While the sunshine everyone wants on a bank holiday weekend cannot be guaranteed, Met Eireann forecaster David Rogers has said Offaly’s weather over the weekend is “not going to be too bad”.
Mr Rogers’ words are not exactly going to make you reach for the picnic basket, but locals can be reassured that the rain the county experienced yesterday will most likely not be back until the middle of next week.
Fog this morning (Friday) will be dense in parts of the midlands. That fog is expected to clear by mid-morning however, giving way to a dry day. According to Mr Rogers it’s also likely to be sunny for a lot of today.
Any sunshine we do see today will be clouded out by evening. Saturday and Sunday are set to be dry and mild, with temperatures of 13 to 15 degrees Celsius expected, and highs of 16 degrees if the sun breaks through the clouds.
Monday is expected to continue in a similar vein, before the rain returns on Tuesday.
