Tullamore Gospel Choir left leaderless as Keeley resigns
Brendan Keeley has stepped down from his role as director of Tullamore Gospel Choir with immediate effect.
The popular choir was first formed under Mr Keeley almost twelve years ago, and since then has performed at regular Masses in the Church of the Assumption in Tullamore as well as recording two albums.
Choir members were informed of Mr Keeley’s resignation after the choir’s regular practice session yesterday (Wednesday).
In a statement on Facebook today Mr Keeley said his resignation is due to work commitments.
“We had so much fun and touched so many peoples [sic] lives,” he said. “I will miss it dearly! I wish to thank all the members past and present for their participation. I sincerely wish them well in the future. Thank you also to the vast legions of people who attended our concerts and masses during my time in charge. Thank you for the music and the memories!”
