"Well-known" and "popular" local family mourn loss of son
A post mortem is being carried out on the body of Tullamore native Kevin Lambe, who is suspected to have died from drowning at the weekend in Australia.
Thirty-four year old Kevin is originally from Arden View in Tullamore, and leaves behind parents Jim and Margaret, sister Rebecca and brothers Jimmy, Dermot and Vinny.
Speaking to the Offaly Independent Tullamore councillor Brendan Killeavy described the former Tullamore hurler as one who had seen much of the world.
“Initially he went to New York with a cousin of mine, Martin Killeavy,” he explained. “He worked there for about five years, then travelled around the world spending time in Japan, Thailand, Hawaii and Australia a few times.”
Kevin took a trip home to Tullamore last September.
At the time of his death he was employed in the mines in Australia.
Cllr Killeavy described the Lambe family as both well-known and popular in Tullamore.
