Offaly couples to feature on RTE
Future brides and grooms from Offaly will feature on tomorrow night’s (Thursday) edition of Maia Dunphy’s “What Women Want” programme on RTE 2.
The couples were all filmed at a wedding fair in the Tullamore Court Hotel last Sunday which was organised by Pauline Belton, the daughter of Tullamore man Gerry Coady.
Speaking to the Offaly Independent Pauline said the production company behind the programme called her last Friday. “We were thrilled of course,” she said.
The programme tomorrow night will look at love and relationships, and as part of that Maia spoke to those perusing the 50 exhibition stands covering every wedding service imaginable that were part of last Sunday’s show, as well as exhibitors and Pauline too.
The main theme that came through, according to Pauline, is how important marriage is to the future brides. Finance is another issue, with most people looking for their special day to come in on a pre-set budget.
Pauline, who’s also a wedding planner, said for her part it’s important people realise weddings of all budgets can benefit from a wedding planner.
“If you don’t have much money you need a wedding planner,” she said, adding that she has in the past brought in a wedding on a budget of €8,000, including her own fee.
