Jesus Christ Superstar for Clara MS

Clara Musical Society has secured the rights to stage the rock-musical “Jesus Christ Superstar”.

The show that established Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice on the international stage will run in the local GAA Social Centre from April 8 until April 12 next year.

A launch night for the show is being held on Friday, October 25. On the night a DVD of the show will be screened in White’s Bar at 8pm.

“Jesus Christ Superstar tells the story of the last days of Jesus’ life on earth, up to and including the crucifixion. The tale is told entirely through the magnificent rock music score that has thrilled audiences for over 40 years now.

Anyone interested in being part of the exciting project would do well to visit White’s Bar in Clara on October 25 next. As well as a screening of the story, CD and audition pieces will be available on the night.

Pre-auditions will be held on Tuesday, October 29, followed by auditions on October 30 and 31 at 8pm in the Friends Meeting House on the Tullamore Road in Clara.
