Midland Drama School hosts fun day
Students of the Midland Drama School enjoyed an American Independence Day with a difference with a special fun day in the Tullamore GAA Centre. The day was colourful and packed with bouncy castles, entertainers, magicians, limbo dancing, life-size games, face painting and refreshments to name but few Director of Midland Drama Schools Lorraine Wynne said the fun day was just a small token to all parents and students for being so committed and hard working throughout the year and also to congratulate the students on a year of achievements. This year for Midland Drama School donated €2,000 which they raised from the sale of DVDs from their musicals throughout the year to the Marian Junior Preschool Services for Children with Intellectual Disabilities based in Tullamore. Marian Junior Training Centre opened its doors in November 1978 in response to a local need for a day service for young children. The centre started off with four children and two staff and has expanded throughout the years to its present capacity. Many of the children who attended in the early days are now enjoying life within adult services, while others move on to mainstream school and to other walks of life. Lorraine would like to say a big thank you to all her helpers who helped on the day and who prepared all the refreshments and to Tullamore G.A.A Centre for giving the Centre for their fun day and to parents for their wonderful support this term Midland Drama School is now enrolling for September 2009 and for the Summer Workshops July 20th to 24th 'Take the Stage'.
