Augusta collection revolutionises weekend leisure wear
Autumn/winter 2009 looks set to be the most exciting season for Augusta Weekend, taking a bold step forward in revolutionising the way we think about weekend leisure wear. The new collection is forward thinking in its use of designs with new and exciting fabrics such as fur, canvas metal, shangeant and the Burberry-esque quilting technique being introduced to further enhance the quality of the label. Outerwear jackets come in a selection of canvas, brushed cotton and crinkled metal, but the most exciting feature is the innovative use of these fabrics as they are blended to create striking features such as grosgrain zips panels, fur funnel neck collars, and oversized ruched rolled lapels. Gilets come in a range of styles and fabrics such as changeante and crinkle satin and in colours such as winter green, chocolate, purple and wildfire red. Their separates collection also sees a new style direction, introducing more style essentials in a variety of eye pleasing choices. This season we see printed cotton tops with even more detail such as caviar pearl print appearing on floral motifs, while stripes also make a strong comeback in drop waisted tops or the obligatory polo shirt. Apres-ski is a strong influence for knits this season, as argyle, cable knits feature strongly with modern twists, such as satin binds and grosgrain and diamante details. Trousers come in a variety of casual styles with again, new fabrics such as micro cord added to the collection. Lengths are longer and tweeds feature strongly with hints of colour. Denim comes in two styles - indigo and black - with diamante detailing on pockets for some extra glamour. Autumn/winter 2009 for Augusta Weekend heralds a new direction for the brand launching its most enticing and revolutionary collection to date. Perfectly combining modern trends with leisure wear for the ideal outdoor collection. Augusta Weekend from Michael H is available in Mary and Marie"s Fashion in Edenderry.
