Tullamore beds appeal for Fleadh Cheoil

Hundreds of beds will be required to cater for the huge volume of visitors set to descend on Tullamore for the All Ireland Fleadh Cheoil 2009. The event, taking place from August 16 to 23 next, will attract over 250,000 people along with thousands of competitors to Tullamore. Organisers for Fleadh Cheoil na hEireann 2009 are working on expanding their current database of accommodation providers they have built up over the past two years and are asking people to put their names forward if they can help. 'We are urging people in Tullamore and its environs to come forward with offers of accommodation for the August event. We are very thankful to everyone who has accommodated people over the past two years and without their support, we would not be able to host this event. However, like every year, we are always looking for more people to come forward as the numbers attending the event grows ever year,' saidAttracta Brady, Chairperson of the 2009 Organising Committee. The Fleadh is hoping to expand on their current database. Attracta said it"s very important to have sufficient accommodation available to cater for the thousands of visitors coming to Tullamore for one of the biggest cultural events of the 2009 calendar. 'It"s vital that people contact us now with offers of accommodation,' she said. 'To accommodate the thousands of performers and visitor, houses and rooms are required from both the commercial and private sector for a number of durations.' It"s hoped that both commercial and residential accommodation will be made readily available in Tullamore and the surrounding areas. Accommodation will be required for many different lengths of duration and if anyone wants to find out more about expected rates and other details, please contact the Accommodation office at Woodchester House, O"Connor Square, Tullamore, Co Offaly.
