A big welcome home for Ferbane AC athletes
On Saturday 18th April there were two members from Ferbane Athletic Club and Army West represented at the Annual Kepac 8 mile BHAA Road Race in Clonee, Co. Meath. Both Paul Buckley and Stephen McKeigue were to the fore in this competitive race. In the early stages Gary Crossan from Letterkenny AC took out the pace closely followed by Stephen McKeigue but at the 2 mile mark Paul Buckley caught up with Crossan and passed the Donegal Man, and from there on in took the lead running the last 6 miles alone. Buckley came home in a winning time of 42:32 well clear of Crossan in 2nd in a time of 43:13 and third came home in a time of 43:25. Stephen McKeigue had a great run in 4th place in a time of 43:45. These performances are especially good considering both athletes are just back from a six-month overseas mission in Kosovo. Well done to both Paul and Stephen. The next race on for the two Ferbane AC Members is the Army Half Marathon in Connemara on Wednesday 22nd April. Best of luck to both. Thanks Ferbane AC would like to thank the local community for their generous contributions at last weekend Church Gate Collection. Membership New members are very welcome to the club.
