Exciting Winter League semi-finals

Winter League The semi-finals of the Winter League sponsored by Tullamore Hardware were played on Sunday. In the first semi-final, Sean Berry"s team, already 1 down were victorious over Paul Rabbitte"s team. Good victories by Alan Lowry over his father and Brian McDermott who defeated Willie O"Shea. The deciding match was between Michael White and Brendan O"Shea. This game went to the 19th where Michael, celebrating his birthday, sank the winning putt. The other semi-final was between David Reynolds" team and Austin Handy"s team. David led the way with a victory and he was followed with good wins by Joan Murphy and Paul Stewart. The final is fixed for Sunday 1st March and already speculation mounts as to the order the teams will be sent out. The scoring in the members No. 3 competition was very high. It is good to see Dinny Hill back on form.
