Woman hurt in edenderry explosion
A young woman was taken to hospital following an explosion at a house in Edenderry yesterday evening.
The woman was taken by ambulance to the Midland Regional Hospital in Tullamore after an explosion at a house in Boyne Meadows at around 6pm yesterday.
She is still being treated in hosipital but her condition is not believed to be life threatening. No one else was harmed in the explosion.
A Garda spokesman said an accidental explosion occurred and “there was a young woman taken to hospital as a precautionary measure.”
“There was damage to the interior of the house and the windows were blown out,” the garda spokesman said. Units of the firebrigade, ambulance and gardai attended at the scene.
While the exact cause of the explosion is not clear, Gardai said they are treating it as an accident.
