Body of missing Carmel Tynan located

The body of missing 54-year-old Portarlington woman Carmel Tynan has been located.

According to Inspector Declan Dunne of Portlaoise garda station the discovery was made between 4pm and 5pm yesterday (Thursday).

Carmel Tynan had not been seen since 10.30am last Sunday morning. Since then hundreds of locals had joined efforts to find her in searches of the locality.

Inspector Dunne confirmed that foul play is not indicated at this point in the investigation.
